Meet Bryan

Garland has been home since 1984.

GISD graduate. GISD parent. Bond leader. Mentor. For more than four decades, Bryan has given back to the community that prepared him for life.

Rooted in Garland

From Little Rock to South Garland

Bryan was 12 when he and his mom, Nancy Robinson, moved from Little Rock, Arkansas, to Garland in 1984. He started at Vial Elementary, went on to Brandenburg Middle School, and graduated from South Garland High School in 1991.

At South Garland he played alto saxophone in the band, and the friendships he made there still matter to him today.

A second GISD generation

Bryan and Nicole have been married for 28 years. Their children, Bryan II and Breyana, went all the way through Garland ISD: Hillside Elementary Academy for Excellence, Austin Middle School and Lakeview Centennial High School.

Both earned college credit through Dallas College while still in high school. Bryan II graduated from Prairie View A&M University. Breyana graduated from North Carolina A&T and is now pursuing a doctorate in veterinary medicine and research.

Agriculture & FFA

Why every pathway matters

When Breyana joined the Lakeview Centennial FFA program, the whole family got invested in agriculture. During one livestock project, a staffing change left students in a tough spot, and dedicated GISD educators stepped up so they could finish their work.

That experience showed Bryan how much committed teachers and specialized programs shape a student's future.
